Stunningly easy to use great sounding app. Keep coming back it.

I have been playing music with ThumbJam since it was first released. Each update has made this app, which was first-rate to begin with, better and better. With this latest update, I was able to jam with four instruments (Blues Organ, Tenor Sax, Acoustic Guitar and Trombone) side by side in Minor Blues scale. What an incredible sound! And I cant play any of those instruments. If you enjoy jamming along with recorded music, or just creating your own, this is the app to get. As I have stated previously, I do not understand why this app is not the number one rated music app.

I have them almost all. The good ones and some not so good that I eventually deleted from my device. However, ThumbJam has never since its introduction left any of my devices. The cello is sick… it sounds real. So do the flutes and other instruments. This is definitely one of my favourites. Very creative, intuitive, expressive, but most importantly, one of the most playable of all.

Im just getting started but Im already in love. The sounds are varied and great from synthy to acoustic, but its the unique input method and use of iphone gyro for modulation that makes this wonderful.

Can someone tell me why the sounds on this app are better than my $3000 keyboard? Plus its easier to play. This is a solid five star app. I do wish there was a robust sequencer though.

Both Thumbjam and DrumJam show up as inter-app audio apps on Retronyms Tabletop but fail to play a note. Please make them function properly. Thank you.

This app has excellent quality sounds that arent tied down to the latest musical styles (plenty of other apps out there for that) & you can import several sound file types into it! A must-have!

It really means a lot to the user that the Devs keep this app updated! True quality and customer service! This is such a cool app! Well worth the $! My friends love it, the sounds are GREAT, easy to get around, covers a lot of necessary needs for song creation and playing along. People are amazed my iTouch can do what it does with this app! Only bad thing is.... Now I have to get the iPad this app is the deal breaker for me holding out on such a purchase! THANKS GUYS! HA! Update is AWESOME !!!!

There are not enough words to say how great this app is. Do it!

Once I updated to iOS8, the mic on the app is tweaking out. Once on, it constantly turns on and off, catching maybe every other word. Then it makes the rest of the loops like that, going on and off.

You wont be sorry.

ThumbJam is so fun and easy to use! with built in looping and ability to do realtime audio-to-MIDI , this app is a must-have!

I own so many music apps that I usually have to delete a trainload of the when iOS upgrade time comes around:). This app is special. It sounds great, even on my iPhone, and has an excellent interface that blows all other music interfaces off the map. It took me all of 10 seconds to start sounding musical with Thumbjam. When you add the included scale libraries to the package, you have the best music/synth app for iOS. Keep up the good work!!

I fumbled around and got a loop going, but some of the notes were off. No problem, just get into the matrix editor and… uh, except you cant edit at the note level? You can see your loop tracks, but you cant actually get in there and drag individual notes around, like every other music-making app? That would mean that this app is only for performers, not people who like to tweak each note to perfection. Since Im not a performer, that would make this app useless to me. Someone tell me Im wrong. Am I missing something? How do I edit looped notes?

I think the honeymoon is over and you need to improve the performance. Im tired of the extra bubble asking me if Im sure and if Im sure Im sure. Are you modeled after Windows 98? Also, can you add more Prebeat loops? Those are a lot of fun to play with. Also add more synth choices. I still prefer garageband synth choices over yours. There must be hundreds to choose from. Thank you. Nice app.

Update for 2015: Four years later and this is still one of the best music making apps on the iPad. So much more powerful too! (from 12/12/10): This is my favorite app. Its fun to use even with no knowledge of composing music.

I downloaded this app when it went on sale for .99 just recently. And I am kind of sad I have been missing out on this for so long. Haha. I did end up buying it for a friend at the 8.99 price because it was worth it. I had also had some questions about setting up the scales and presets to work with the new Auug case/holder and they were quick to help me out. Got all my questions answered in a timely manner by email (being in business I expect 2 days or less response time). Looking forward to playing around with this app more. The only bad thing I have run into so far is that the Bluetooth transmission is a little slow for using the app over a Bluetooth speaker or receiver. Only tested it on a mpow Bluetooth 4.0 receiver, so it could have been the receivers issue.

I have so many of these apps. Looking for the perfect drum looper and synth I discovered this app. The sound is incredible. The interface is very straight forward and easy to use. The cello, viola and strings sound AMAZING on this. I thought the interface would be a bit difficult to play as I was looking for piano keyboard interface but, this is pretty easily played. I plan to try it for recording but havent yet. Very happy with this app.
