This may just be the best app ive purchased, hands down. Im using it to control instruments in my DAW. the voice recognition is just amazing.

Theres no landscape mode. WT£ Rookies.

Picked it up on sale and it instantly became my new favorite music app, both as a super playable synth and a midi controller. You can tell immediately how much love and care the developer has put into the app. Amazing feature set.

Ill get the negative out of the way first. Layout! Garage Band has two screens, one consists of a track view that shows you all the instruments/ vocals / mix downs that are in your current track. Its displayed quit nicely actually and is easy to navigate around and tweak. The second screen it provides is one that comes up when you are in an instrument mode for any of the tracks from the first screen. Here is where you can play and record your instrument of choice. With Thumb Jam however, its just sloppily pasted over your screen where your instruments notes are shown. Its quite messy and just gets in the way IMO . If there is a way to not have this show I have not come across it yet,nor should I have to search for it. That aside , the lavish assortment of instruments and the quality sound these instruments provides is fantastic. And the ability to create your own instrument is fantastic! Not even the mighty Garage Band can compare to the variety and quality of these samples! So do yourself a favor and pick this one up. I have both because I find they differ enough to warrant having two capable music apps at my disposal, but Thumb Jam takes the cake for instrumental variety!

One of my favorite instrument apps. Love the sounds and ease of use. For the developers. I just upgraded to ios 6.01 and saw that the app was taking up 4.4GB. Nothing on google. Assuming something went wrong when it restored the app from my backup. Deleted and re-downloading. I assume this will fix the problem, and thus my 5 star review.

The instrument sounds are the best Ive heard from an iPad app. The interface isnt overwhelming if you arent interested in all the fancy stuff (yet). Just pick it up and doodle away. If you ARE into recording, MIDI controlling, creating your own instruments and on and on, well, thats all there, too. Highly recommended! Youll be amazed at what it can do.

It is like sample tank, loopy, midi guitar, and something else to create samples - all in one app. Also you can play it as an instrument. Unlike many other wanna be apps, all features here are usable. It is difficult to create drum loops as there is no quantizing, also slight delay in pitch to midi conversion - if this is fixed I will forget all my other apps.

This is a gift that just keeps on giving. So many great high quality instrument sounds can be made with Thumbjam by itself or combined with other apps in Audiobus. Also many Midi options sre available as well. Buy it!

Would it be possible to have a downloadable older version. I have updated to current version but now wont open and quits instantly. It could be because I havent updated my IPod 4g (4.3.5) to the latest; but I am currently unable to. Thanks. Thumbjam is a great app if you love to create music, loops, beats etc.

What Im about to tell you is as accurate and truthful as I can be. I have the top 1000 music apps and close to 3000 apps overall. This app is without a doubt the best app I have and have ever used. The sound quality and overall genius is outstanding. Great job people. Ive used this app for years and will continue. To long of a review to tell you everything. This app has a massive sound set and covers off all sorts of instruments of ones that are pretty eclectic. It does so many things that I wont reiterate them all here but please read up before you pass this one over. Thumbjam is one of those apps that you just need, if you are making music on iOS. It has Audiobus, Inter-App Audio and ableton link support. Its simply awesome.

Every musician and anyone who likes music will enjoy this amazing app. The sounds are wonderful.

Its a great application for music. Sounds are really realistic and cool. Lots of scales, easy to play, easy to making loops, etc etc... If you are a musician you have to buy this app.

Absolutely fantastic app! My I-pad is full of different music making apps but TJ is a diamond among them.Very good job!
